The Kings Arms Hotel is a small hotel, bar and restaurant in the heart of Castle Douglas. We're a friendly team providing a welcoming and relaxed environment for both local customers and visitors to the area.
Hospitality Assistant
This is a varied role within our hotel and restaurant, with duties including serving, housekeeping and general kitchen support.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed from the moment they arrive
- Assist with food service, including taking orders, serving meals and beverages
- Assist with basic kitchen duties, including support food preparation, organising supplies, setting up stations, and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas
- Housekeeping, including cleaning and preparing guest bedrooms and communal areas
- Assisting with other day-to-day tasks across the hotel as required
Experience
- Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, restaurant service, or hotel environments is preferred but experiece in every area of the role is not required
- A positive, friendly attitude as well as hardworking and reliable
- Flexible and happy to work across different areas of the hotel, willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Good attention to detail and high standards of customer service and cleanliness
- Ability to follow instructions, working both as a team and independently
This is a varied role, and you won’t be expected to have experience in every area. Training can be provided where needed, so if you have experience in some areas of hospitality but not others, we’d still encourage you to apply. The ideal candidate would live locally or able to reliably commute.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
