Evening Store Assistant (4:00PM – 11:00PM)
Location: Premier Whittlesey Convenience Store, Whittlesey
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and customer-focused individual to join our team on a permanent evening shift. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards throughout the store.
The successful candidate will play a key role in customer service, stock replenishment, online order picking, store presentation and ensuring the shop is ready for trade each day.
Shift Pattern
- 4:00PM – 11:00PM
- Weekdays and weekends available
- Additional overtime may be offered when cover is required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Operate the till accurately and efficiently
- Replenish stock and maintain product availability
- Pick and pack online delivery orders accurately
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked, faced up and presented to a high standard
- Complete date code checks and stock rotation
- Assist with parcel collections and services offered in store
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the premises
- Support with evening routines and closing procedures
- Monitor stock levels and communicate any shortages
- Assist with promotional displays and seasonal merchandising

Technology & Systems
This role requires the use of technology throughout the shift. The successful candidate must be comfortable using smartphones, tablets and store systems to complete daily tasks.
You will be required to:
- Use retail and back-office applications
- Pick and process online delivery orders
- Update stock levels and product availability
- Manage digital task lists and reports
- Assist with online customer orders and enquiries
- Use parcel management systems
- Communicate with management and colleagues through digital platforms
Previous experience using technology in the workplace is beneficial; however, full training will be provided. A willingness to learn and adapt to new systems is essential.
Skills
- Proven supervising or leadership experience within a retail setting
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, for reporting and updating documents
- Multilingual abilities are advantageous for assisting diverse customer bases
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management capabilities to prioritise tasks effectively
- Experience in merchandising, stock management, and store presentation techniques
- Administrative experience including cash handling, record keeping, and utilisation of retail management software
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and foster a collaborative work environment
- Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently during evening hours

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
