We are a warm, welcoming, and nurturing childcare setting dedicated to providing high-quality early years education and care for children and their families. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed* Flying Start Childcare Practitioner t*o join our friendly team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Welsh Government's Flying Start programme, supporting young children to achieve the best possible outcomes through engaging, child-centred practice.
The Role
As a Flying Start Childcare Practitioner, you will:
- Provide high-quality care and education in line with the Flying Start programme and the Curriculum for Wales.
- Plan and deliver stimulating activities that promote children's learning and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress.
- Promote children's wellbeing, safety, and inclusion at all times.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
- Work as part of a supportive and professional team.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and all relevant policies and legislation.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Playwork that meets Social Care Wales requirements.
- Registration with Social Care Wales (or willingness to register).
- Knowledge of child development and the principles of quality early years practice.
- A caring, enthusiastic, and reliable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable
- Experience working within a Flying Start setting.
- Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and Development Pathway.
- Welsh language skills are welcomed but not essential.
