Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman Operative / End of Tenancy Cleaner to join our maintenance department. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, primarily focusing on end-of-tenancy cleans and general handyman duties. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial cleaning and janitorial work, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to completing tasks efficiently. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high standards of property presentation and maintenance across diverse properties. You will be expected to drive to various sites across Kent & East Sussex, so a valid UK driving licence is essential.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Painting & Decorating: Perform touch-ups as well as full interior/exterior painting to maintain the properties appearance.
- Cleaning: Carry out cleans of vacated/void units, including kitchens, bathrooms, and communal areas, ensuring all cleaning tasks meet company standards for quality and safety.
- Maintenance: Perform general handyman duties, including minor repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting across properties.
- Reporting: Any significant repairs or safety hazards to be reported to management promptly.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies during all tasks.
- Skills: Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable.
- Ability: To work independently with minimal supervision.
- Time management: Time management skills to complete jobs within allocated timeframes. Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Skills & Knowledge
- Previous experience as a handyman or in a property maintenance role.
- Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling and decorating.
- Ability to identify problems and resolve them independently.
- Strong communication skills, with a polite and respectful manner when dealing with residents.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Basic IT skills for reporting and logging completed work.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
