Job: Complex Mental Health Support Worker (2:1 Support)
Location: Client's Home and Community
Hours: Day and Night shift patterns, includes alternate weekend working, 12.5 hour shifts
Salary: £33,556.25 (Day) - £38,220.00 (Night)
In a Nutshell
We're looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Complex Mental Health Support Workers to join our Specialist Trauma Services team at The Maples.
In this rewarding role, you'll support people with complex mental health needs and/or learning disabilities to build independence, achieve personal goals, and live safely and confidently within their homes and communities.
Working within our Registered Services, you'll collaborate with fellow Complex Mental Health Support Workers and wider professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals living with severe and enduring mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities.

What Will You Be Doing?
You will:
- Support individuals with day-to-day living activities while promoting independence and choice.
- Help people access their local communities, social activities, and leisure opportunities.
- Support attendance at education, training, volunteering, and employment opportunities.
- Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments, hospital visits, and other important engagements.
- Encourage the use of technology, including emails, video calls, and online services.
- Assist with planning and participating in outings, holidays, and community events.
- Support individuals to pursue hobbies, interests, and personal goals.
- Promote dignity, privacy, independence, and person-centred support at all times.
- Follow individual support plans, risk assessments, and care documentation.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records.
- Work collaboratively with families, advocates, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and report concerns in line with safeguarding and organisational procedures.
What Will You Bring to the Role?
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience supporting people with mental ill health, complex trauma, and/or learning disabilities.
- Previous experience working within a CQC-regulated service, ideally supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and learning disabilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge of person-centred support, safeguarding, and risk management practices.
- An understanding of the Mental Health Act and medication management, or a willingness to learn and develop in these areas.
- An NVQ in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification) or relevant experience within the sector.
