At CPL Accounts, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Bookkeeper to join our growing team.
This is a flexible, home-based role where you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, building strong working relationships, and supporting them with their day-to-day bookkeeping needs.
As a valued member of our team, you will ensure bookkeeping processes run smoothly and efficiently, providing clients with accurate financial information and helping them maintain confidence in their finances.
Duties
- Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Processing and reviewing financial transactions and documentation
- Completing daily bank reconciliations
- Managing credit control activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero
- Reviewing Profit & Loss reports and Balance Sheets to identify discrepancies and unusual transactions
- Communicating with clients to resolve queries and improve financial accuracy
- Liaising with accountants and other third parties where required
- Ensuring deadlines are met and client records remain up to date
Experience
- Proven experience working as a bookkeeper in a client-facing environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse financial information accurately
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Practical knowledge of VAT and accounting principles
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) would be advantageous
- A minimum of 1 year's hands-on experience using Xero (essential)
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to ask questions and challenge anomalies when necessary
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills
- The ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative team
