We are seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on light vehicles using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks including engine work, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair procedures.
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately identify issues and implement solutions.
- Carry out welding tasks where necessary to repair or modify vehicle components.
- Assist with the installation of new parts and accessories, ensuring proper fitment and function.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time taken for each job.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and advising on vehicle maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Technician or similar role within an automotive workshop.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for vehicle repair.
- Experience with assembly processes, equipment repair, welding, and general maintenance tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing faults accurately.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology are preferred but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within a professional automotive environment while providing top-quality service to our clients.
Pay: £36,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
