We're a fast-growing digital and creative agency based in Bristol with international clients, established in 2001. We're looking for an experienced marketing analyst to join us as we expand our client base in both the Data & Analytics team and the wider digital marketing team.

- Salary: £35,000 - 45,000
- Location: Blended working (A minimum of 3 days at Courage House, 3 Ashman's Road, Bristol, BS3 2EZ)

What we are looking for
We are looking for a technically skilled and analytically minded Digital Marketing Analyst to join Fanatic. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing measurement frameworks across client accounts, ensuring accurate data collection in an evolving analytics and measurement landscape. You will work closely with account managers, developers, the digital marketing team and clients to deliver actionable insights and robust tracking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain tracking setups across client websites, apps and third-party platforms.
- Build, manage and optimise Google Tag Manager containers, including custom HTML tags, triggers, and variables.
- Implement and maintain server-side tracking solutions (sGTM), managing data streams, event routing, and vendor tags.
- Set up and manage Conversions API (CAPI) integrations (e.g., Meta, TikTok), including event deduplication strategies to ensure accurate, non-duplicated conversion reporting across browser and server.
- Configure and QA data layers (working alongside our development team), debug tracking issues, and validate measurement accuracy.
- Translate business requirements into measurement plans and tagging specifications.
- Engage proactively with clients and internal stakeholders to present findings, manage expectations, and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with developers, data teams and clients to ensure clean, reliable data pipelines.
- Produce clear, actionable reports and dashboards for internal teams and clients.
- Conduct multichannel performance analysis across paid, organic and owned channels, synthesising data from multiple sources to surface trends, identify opportunities, and inform campaign strategy.Stay current with changes in privacy and consent, platform policies, and the broader analytics ecosystem.
Skills
Essential:
- 3+ years’ experience in a digital marketing analytics role.
- Proven ability to set up and optimise Google Analytics accounts from scratch, including property configuration, data streams, custom dimensions and metrics, audience definitions, and custom channel groupings.
- Strong proficiency in Google Tag Manager, including container structure, custom tags, triggers, variables, and debugging.
- Demonstrable experience with server-side tracking implementation (e.g. server-side GTM, tagging servers, first-party endpoints).
- Working knowledge of cookieless and privacy-first analytics approaches: Consent Mode v2, first-party cookies, Google Analytics modelling, and alternative measurement platforms.
- Solid understanding of the web (HTML, JavaScript, the DOM, network requests) sufficient to implement and troubleshoot tracking.
- Experience reading and interpreting data layers and working alongside development teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to QA and validation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with Data Studio for building and maintaining client-facing dashboards that connect GA4, ad platforms, and other data sources.
Desirable:
- SQL: ability to write queries to extract and manipulate datasets.
- Google BigQuery: experience with Google Analytics and Google Search Console raw data exports, writing queries, and building data pipelines.
- Familiarity with cookieless analytics platforms (e.g. Matomo).
- Familiarity with additional data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Understanding of attribution modelling.
