The Role
Senior Payroll Administrator and Accounts Assistant (full-time – office based)
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator with Sales and Purchase ledger experience, to join our team based in the south side of Glasgow.
The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and be required to manage the end-to-end monthly payroll as well as provide support to the finance team.
Role Description
Payroll (main function)
- Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage the monthly end-to-end payroll (150 employees), using Sage 50 payroll, with minimum supervision.
- Manage all payroll elements such as Pensions, statutory payments (maternity, paternity, adoption, sickness), student loans, deductions, and Payrolling benefits (taxable and non-taxable)
- Weekly absence and timesheet reconciliation
- RTI submissions to HMRC and year-end reporting (P60, P11D).
- Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes;
o Take lead in a project to Identify and evaluate modern time and attendance systems to streamline and automate payroll processes.
o Automate and integrate our pensions processes
o Conduct a full review of current and future salary sacrifice initiatives
Accounts (varied ad-hoc support across the following
- Volume processing of purchase invoices daily using Sage Line 50 accounts.
- Ensuring the correct Nominal codes and cost centres are applied.
- Resolution of queries and any disputes with suppliers.
- Working with Purchase Orders and matching on our own internal production Control System (PCS).
- Statement reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly BACS run.
- Credit Cards reconciliation.
- Scanning supplier invoices to Sage.
- Ad Hoc duties as required.
Essential Skills
- Proven track record in managing payroll for medium-sized organisations.
- Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 50 Accounts software.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excel experience.
- Strong communication skills.
