About Apex Specialist Education
Apex Specialist Education is a specialist independent secondary school and alternative provision supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional barriers to learning.
We provide highly personalised education within a trauma-informed and relationship-centred environment, enabling pupils to re-engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve recognised qualifications.
Our ambitious curriculum combines academic and vocational pathways, giving young people opportunities to develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence they need to succeed in education, employment and adult life.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Hair & Beauty Tutor to join our growing vocational education team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hair and/or beauty professional who would like to use their industry skills to inspire and educate young people.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging practical and theory-based Hair & Beauty sessions, primarily supporting learners working towards entry-level and Level 1 vocational qualifications and accreditations.
A significant proportion of the working week will be based at The Beauty Escape, 137 Rochdale Road, Firgrove, Rochdale, OL16 3BU, where Apex works in partnership to provide pupils with access to a realistic salon environment and valuable vocational learning experiences.
The role will also involve delivering Hair & Beauty sessions across our education centres in Rochdale, Stockport and Altrincham, meaning regular travel between locations will be required.
Whilst previous teaching experience would be advantageous, it is not essential. We welcome applications from experienced hairdressers, beauty therapists and other appropriately qualified industry professionals who are passionate about working with young people and interested in moving into education. Support and professional development will be provided.
