Crafter’s Companion is entering an exciting new chapter. Over 21 years we have built a strong brand, a loyal customer base and a distinctive position in a specialist market, creating products for people who genuinely love to craft and want to spend more time doing what they enjoy. Now we are looking to build on that strong foundation, with ambitious plans to grow across ecommerce, TV and digital, and we are looking for an Ecommerce & Trading Manager to play a key role in shaping and delivering the next stage of our growth.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves ecommerce, understands what makes customers buy and gets excited by the opportunity to improve performance. You will have real ownership of our ecommerce trading activity and the opportunity to make a visible impact on how we trade, grow and develop.
As Ecommerce & Trading Manager, you own the day to day commercial performance of our ecommerce websites. You combine strong trading instincts with data driven decision making, making sure we have the right products, offers, pricing and content in front of customers at the right time.
You will:
- Own ecommerce sales, margin and trading performance, with responsibility for delivering against commercial targets
- Lead the ecommerce trading calendar across campaigns, promotions, launches and seasonal activity
- Use data and customer insight to identify opportunities, improve conversion and increase average order value and repeat purchase
- Own onsite merchandising across the website, ensuring products and promotions are presented effectively
- Work closely with Marketing and CRM to make sure campaigns drive both traffic and commercial results
- Work with Product and Supply Chain to maximise product opportunities and manage stock risks
- Analyse trading performance and turn insight into clear, practical actions
- Identify underperforming areas and take action to improve them
- Support forecasting, budgeting and sales planning
- Work closely with the wider commercial team, including our digital channel ‘Crafter’s TV’, to identify opportunities across channels
- Continuously look for new ways to grow sales, improve customer experience and make our ecommerce operation more effective
About you
We are looking for an experienced ecommerce or trading professional who is commercially minded, analytical and comfortable taking ownership.
You understand that great ecommerce is about more than simply putting products online. You know how to use data, customer behaviour, merchandising, promotions and trading insight to drive performance.
Experience within a specialist, niche or enthusiast led sector would be particularly valuable. Our customers are passionate about their hobby, highly engaged with the products they buy and often have deep knowledge of the categories they shop. Understanding how to trade to an enthusiast audience is a real advantage.
You are:
- Commercially focused and motivated by delivering results
- Highly analytical, with the ability to turn data into clear actions
- Confident managing ecommerce trading calendars and commercial activity
- Experienced in onsite merchandising and website optimisation
- Comfortable working across multiple teams and bringing people together around commercial priorities
- Proactive and hands on, with a genuine desire to improve how things are done
- Able to balance the detail with the bigger commercial picture
- Confident presenting performance, recommendations and opportunities to senior stakeholders
Most importantly, you are someone who sees opportunity and wants to make things happen. You will have genuine ownership, visibility and the opportunity to influence how we trade and where we go next. If you enjoy working in a fast moving environment, spotting opportunities and seeing your ideas turn into measurable results, this is a role where you can make a real difference.
