We’re now looking for reliable and experienced Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Drivers to join our day shift team in Birmingham. This role involves both forklift operation and manual handling/handballing, so it suits someone who’s hands-on, physically capable, and takes pride in working efficiently as part of a team.
The Role
As a FLT Driver, you’ll be an essential part of our warehouse operation — safely loading and unloading vehicles, moving freight within the warehouse, and supporting the flow of goods. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating a counterbalance forklift safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Handballing and manual handling of goods as required during loading, unloading, and sorting tasks.
- Loading and unloading trailers and vehicles in line with schedules.
- Moving, stacking, and storing freight accurately and efficiently.
- Conducting daily checks on equipment and reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintaining clear communication with transport and warehouse teams.
- Keeping the work area clean, safe, and compliant with site standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (required)
- Minimum 12 months’ FLT experience in a warehouse or transport setting (required)
- Confident in handballing and manual handling work when required
- Good awareness of safe lifting practices and load security
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently on day shifts
- Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and attention to detail
