Job Title
Bank Team Member – Cake Packing, Order Fulfilment & Cake Decorating
Location: Candy’s Cupcakes, Ashton-under-Lyne
Contract Type: Zero Hours (Flexible – cover for staff absences & busy periods)

To help us through busy periods and provide cover when needed, we’re building a flexible Bank Team of enthusiastic staff who can step in and support across different areas of the business, including packing, fulfilment, production and cake decorating.
Working Hours
This role is offered on a flexible, zero-hour basis. Shifts will be available at short notice across the following times:
- Monday – Thursday: 8am – 10pm
- Friday: 8am – 4pm
- Sunday: 9am – 4pm
Hours will vary depending on business needs, making this role ideal for someone who is looking for flexibility and is available at short notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and preparing packaging for cupcakes and other baked goods
- Carefully packing orders, ensuring they are presented to our high standards and ready for dispatch
- Using packaging equipment safely and efficiently
- Supporting our TikTok team by packaging orders correctly for their content and live sales
- Assisting with cake decorating and finishing products to our required design and quality standards
- Decorating cupcakes, cakes and other products using piping bags, buttercream, fondant and other decorating techniques where required
- Following set designs, recipes and decorating instructions accurately
- Ensuring decorated products are consistent in appearance, portion and quality
- Working carefully with delicate products to minimise damage and waste
- Assisting with unpacking deliveries and general stock handling
- Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe workspace
- Working quickly and accurately to meet deadlines during busy periods
- Supporting the wider bakery team with ad-hoc tasks
- Following all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in packing, warehouse, fulfilment, food production or cake decorating is helpful
- Previous cake decorating experience is highly desirable, particularly experience with cupcakes, buttercream piping, fondant or similar techniques
- A good eye for detail and an ability to produce neat, consistent and visually appealing products
- Strong attention to detail to ensure every order is perfect
- Ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, flexible and proactive attitude
- Physically able to carry out repetitive tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting light to moderate loads
- Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to support different areas of the bakery depending on business needs

I’d particularly recommend changing “Cake decorating: desirable” rather than making it required. That way you still attract reliable bank staff who may be excellent at packing, but you can identify applicants with decorating skills as an added bonus.
