A vacancy has arisen for a full time Sacristan within Newry Cathedral Parish.
The responsibilities will include:
- The maintenance of the sacristy where the Church's liturgical items are kept, including vestments, sacred vessels and books etc.
- Ensuring that the sacristy is ready for Mass, other services, baptisms, weddings and funerals and that all the requisite books and sacramental vessels etc. are in place.
- Ensuring the sacristy is cleared after all services and the Church is left secure and tidy.
- To be responsible for the counting of shrine money and banking of all monies including the weekly collection.
The terms are based on a permanent appointment requiring 37 1/2 hours per week Monday - Sunday. Work pattern to be agreed.
Flexibility will be required in relation to attendance and hours worked from time to time.
Rate of pay £12.84 gross per hour.
