- Complete general building, plastering, decorating and flooring works, including internal and external painting and surface preparation where required
- Carry out minor plumbing and associated maintenance works, including sealing around baths, showers, sinks, worktops, doors and windows
- Repair and replace locks, hinges, handles and other ironmongery, including UPVC and wooden door locks, and secure properties in emergency situations where required
- Inspect properties, identify defects and potential hazards, take accurate measurements and determine the appropriate materials and works required
- Work in accordance with Health and Safety requirements, relevant British Standards, manufacturer guidance, Building Regulations and company procedures, including preparing RAMS where required
- Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors, ensuring works are coordinated effectively and projects are completed within agreed timescales and budgets
- Maintain clean, safe and tidy work areas, protect property and contents, manage waste appropriately and provide completion photographs and relevant job information
- Communicate effectively with the office team, contractors and customers, providing quotations, updates and supporting information where required
Key Skills Required
- Proven experience as a Joiner, Multi-Trade Operative, Maintenance Operative or in a similar property maintenance/refurbishment role
- Strong joinery skills with experience undertaking a broad range of property repairs and refurbishment works
- Multi-trade experience across areas such as plumbing, plastering, decorating, flooring or roofing would be highly desirable
- Strong practical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing consistent, high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and take ownership of jobs from start to completion
- Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements and the ability to work safely within residential properties
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple jobs and work within agreed budgets and timescales
