Educational Psychologist
The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Educational Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with students, staff and families to make a meaningful impact on pupils' lives through direct intervention, systemic support and whole school development.
We are a forward thinking organisation, working with young people and children who have not found traditional learning easy. We operate two SEMH schools, a new Vocational Study Centre and a Children’s Home in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft areas.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working Pattern: 44 weeks per year (38 weeks term time plus 6 additional weeks). Weeks can be variable to 52 depending on work demands.
Salary: From £40,000 - £65,000 per annum, full time
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop individualised intervention plans for pupils with SEMH/SEN needs
- Deliver direct therapeutic work with children and young people
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to develop inclusive practices and strategies
- Provide consultation and training to staff on trauma informed approaches, emotional regulation and behaviour support
- Work with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Support the school in meeting EHCP requirements and contribute to annual reviews and multi-agency meetings
Essential Criteria
- HCPC registered Educational Psychologist
- Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity
- Excellent communication, assessment and report writing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in or with specialist SEMH settings
- Training in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, Play Therapy or EMDR
- Knowledge of attachment theory and its application in schools
