Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to individuals within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and well-being for clients, ensuring their daily needs are met with professionalism and kindness. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans.
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities to promote independence.
- Prepare and assist with meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Administer medication as prescribed, following strict protocols.
- Undertake light domestic chores including laundry, cleaning, and tidying to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Record and report any changes in the client’s health or behaviour to relevant healthcare professionals.
- Follow individualised care plans accurately to meet each client’s specific needs.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, their families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or care home settings is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients’ homes, mileage will be paid for by the company.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans effectively.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for accurate documentation and communication.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and updating care documentation electronically.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
