Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to support our growing programmes of work across the South West, with a particular focus on the Dorset area. You will oversee surfacing gangs, coordinate daily activities, ensure safe working practices, and maintain high standards of quality and productivity on all sites.
This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to manage people, plant, and programme demands effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise surfacing gangs to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Coordinate daily site activities, including plant, materials, labour, and traffic management requirements.
- Maintain close communication with operatives, management, and clients to ensure smooth delivery of works.
- Monitor workmanship, productivity, and compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental procedures.
- Complete site paperwork, including daily records, risk assessments, and quality checks.
- Identify and report defects, delays, or issues that may impact programme delivery.
- Represent Connor Construction professionally on all client sites.
You Must Have
- Proven experience supervising road surfacing or highways teams.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt surfacing processes, plant, and equipment.
- A valid CSCS card (Supervisory level preferred).
- NPORS, CPCS, or equivalent plant‑operation certification is desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence.
Additional Information
- Flexibility to travel between sites is essential.
- Overtime, night shifts, and weekend work may be required depending on programme demands.
