Piri Fresco is seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our busy restaurant in Keswick.
This is a senior operational role for a confident, hands-on manager who can lead a team, maintain high standards and drive consistent performance across the restaurant.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of the operation, including service standards, team performance, staffing, stock control, compliance and customer experience. You will work closely with the owner to improve systems, strengthen the management structure and support the continued development of the business.
The successful candidate will be visible and actively involved in the restaurant. This is not a desk-based position. You will lead from the front, support the team during busy services and take ownership of standards across both front of house and the kitchen.
The existing team is established. Your role will be to assess its strengths, clarify responsibilities, develop future supervisors and managers, and create a clear and effective structure for the operation.

Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant
* Lead busy services and remain actively involved on the floor
* Maintain consistently high standards of customer service and hospitality
* Manage, motivate and develop the existing team
* Identify and develop future supervisors and managers
* Establish clear responsibilities, reporting lines and management procedures
* Implement, maintain and improve restaurant SOPs
* Prepare and manage staff rotas
* Monitor attendance, performance and conduct
* Recruit, onboard and train new team members when required
* Maintain effective opening and closing procedures
* Oversee cash handling and cashing-up procedures
* Manage stock, ordering, waste and supplier relationships
* Maintain food safety, cleanliness and compliance standards
* Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally
* Monitor labour costs and operational performance
* Identify operational issues and implement effective solutions
* Work with the owner on business development and operational improvements
What We Are Looking For
You will ideally have previous experience managing a busy restaurant, pub, café or hospitality operation.
We are looking for a manager who combines strong operational ability with visible, practical leadership. You should be comfortable leading services, supporting the team directly and taking responsibility for the overall performance of the restaurant.
