Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring every customer has a memorable dining experience. This role offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills within the hospitality industry, including food service, guest relations, and upselling techniques. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate. Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in during their meal and addressing any concerns promptly
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
- Handle payments accurately and provide receipts to guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, including tables, trays, and stations
- Follow food safety protocols and health & safety regulations at all times
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when required, supporting kitchen staff as needed
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving procedures
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and bills accurately
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food preparation and culinary practices is a plus
- Time management skills to ensure timely service delivery
- Guest-focused attitude with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer experiences
- Upselling skills to promote menu items confidently and increase sales potential
