What you'll be doing
As an Early Years Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our experienced practitioners to provide outstanding care and learning experiences for every child.
You'll:
- Help create a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children feel happy, secure and valued.
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging play and learning activities that encourage children's curiosity, creativity and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, helping them develop confidence, independence and social skills.
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, sleep routines, toileting and personal care where appropriate.
- Support children's emotional wellbeing through warm, responsive interactions.
- Help observe children's interests and achievements, contributing to learning journeys and daily records.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing feedback on children's day when required.
- Prepare learning resources and help maintain clean, organised and welcoming learning environments.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding, health and safety are maintained at all times.
- Take part in training and professional development opportunities to continue building your Early Years knowledge and skills.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, childcare or other early years setting.
- A genuine passion for working with babies and young children.
- A caring, patient and positive approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop within the Early Years profession.
- An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
You don't need a formal Early Years qualification for this role, but previous nursery or childcare experience is essential. If you're keen to develop your career, we'll support your professional growth and ongoing learning.
