About the Role
Following a highly successful first year on the Norfolk coast, The Ship in Brancaster is expanding. We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to take full physical ownership of our 9 luxury boutique guest rooms and public spaces.
This is a premium, small-scale operation. Because we maintain a highly focused collection of just 9 rooms, you will be on the floor leading by example—physically cleaning, dressing, and perfecting the rooms alongside a small team, while taking full responsibility for the final presentation standards.
Compensation & Pay Structure
- Guaranteed Base Salary: £25,500 per year - based on 35 hrs per weeked
- Estimated Tips (Tronc): Average of £1.30+ per hour (Approx. £2,535 additional per year)
- Expected Total Earnings: From £28,500 per year inclusive of tips
- Contract Details: Full-Time, Annualised Hours. This means you enjoy a steady, predictable monthly salary year-round, even when your working hours drop during the quiet winter months.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on housekeepong: Working directly on the floor to execute full, luxury room resets (linens, towels, and guest amenities) to a pristine standard.
- Ownership: Taking total responsibility for the final "wow-factor" look and inspection of all 9 rooms before guest arrivals.
- Public Areas: Maintaining the clean, welcoming presentation of our pub and restaurant spaces before service begins.
- Behind-the-Scenes Management: Managing linen deliveries, monitoring guest amenity stock levels, and organizing seasonal deep-cleaning schedules.
Requirements
- Experience: Strong, proven experience in hotel housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or high-end holiday-let management. You must love the physical, rewarding process of transforming a room.
- Transport: Due to our beautiful, rural coastal location, reliable independent transport (car or motorbike) is essential, as local public transport schedules do not reliably align with shift times.
- Standards: A genuine passion for luxury presentation, an eye for tiny details, and the pride required to treat these 9 rooms as your own.
Benefits
- Financial Stability: A guaranteed, flat salary of £27,300 per year. Your monthly pay remains exactly the same year-round.
- True Work-Life Balance: Daytime shifts only. Typically 09:00 AM – 3 PM depending on seasonal room turnover. No late-night kitchen or front-of-house split shifts.
- Manageable Scale: No massive corporate corridors. You get to focus your energy on just 9 premium rooms within a stable, friendly, and beautifully renovated coastal venue.
