The role
We’re looking for a talented, energetic Content Creator to join our marketing team and shape how our brands show up across social media.
We’re a B2B telecoms, IT and technology provider, but that doesn’t mean our content has to feel corporate or dry. We want someone who can take our products and services and turn them into simple, engaging content that people actually want to watch, read and share.
This is a genuine end-to-end role. You’ll take our content strategy from idea through to filming, editing, designing, writing, publishing and reporting, across Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. The Marketing Director sets the direction, and you own the execution, so you’ll need to be just as comfortable behind the camera as in front of it, and to bring confidence, initiative and a genuine passion for social media to the job.
What you’ll be doingContent creation
● Develop and produce engaging content in line with our marketing strategy, generating ideas for videos, campaigns, customer stories, case studies and culture content.
● Spot content opportunities across the business, from customer interactions and sales activity to events, people and industry developments.
● Own the full video production process, from concept and scripting through to filming, editing and publishing, with a strong eye for framing, lighting, sound and composition.
● Be comfortable appearing on camera yourself, presenting content and interviewing colleagues or suppliers.
● Create graphics and static content using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma or Canva.
● Write clear, compelling copy to a high standard of UK English, adapting it for each platform rather than posting the same content everywhere.
● Turn complex technology subjects into content that is easy to understand and genuinely engaging.
Social media management
● Own day-to-day content production and publishing across all our channels, building and maintaining a proactive content calendar.
● Plan content around campaigns, business activity, industry events and trends, and manage the production pipeline so content is created and published consistently.
● Stay on top of platform developments and support community management and engagement where appropriate.
● Keep an eye on competitors and the wider industry, bringing new ideas and opportunities to the team.
Measurement and improvement
● Track the performance of our content and channels, reporting monthly on reach, engagement, audience growth and inbound opportunities.
● Understand what is working and why, and use that insight, along with testing of different formats and approaches, to continually improve what we produce.
What we’re looking for
● Proven experience in a content creation, social media or similar role.
● Strong knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and X, and what makes content work on each.
● Strong video production and editing skills, with experience shooting both short-form social video and longer-form content.
● Strong graphic design skills and a good eye for visual quality.
● Excellent copywriting skills and a strong command of UK English.
● Experience using design and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma or Canva.
● Experience managing a content calendar and an understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
● Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage several pieces of content at different stages at once.
● The initiative to take strategic direction and turn it into great creative work, without waiting to be told what to do.
The person
This role suits someone who gets things done rather than waiting for a detailed brief. You’ll spot a good piece of content happening around the office, grab a camera, get the right people involved and turn it into something people want to watch. You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need a big personality, plenty of initiative and the confidence to make things happen.
The first 90 days
By the end of your first 90 days, we’d expect you to have:
● Built a strong understanding of our brand, tone of voice, products, customers and culture.
● Reviewed our existing social media analytics and content performance, and identified what is working, what isn’t, and where the opportunities are.
● Taken ownership of a forward-looking content calendar and production process, with content being created, scheduled and published consistently.
● Built relationships across the business, so you know where to find stories, people and opportunities.
● Started testing new formats and creative approaches, with clear benchmarks and a regular reporting rhythm in place.
Put simply, we don’t expect you to still be finding your feet after 90 days. We expect you to know our brand and our audience, and to be full of ideas about where we go next.
What success looks like
Success isn’t simply measured by how many posts we publish. You’ll be succeeding when our channels are consistently active and growing, our brand is becoming more recognisable, and complex telecoms and IT subjects are being told in a simple, engaging way that people want to share. We’ll also be looking for a well-organised, sustainable production process, and for you to bring us new ideas rather than waiting for them to be handed to you.
In a nutshell
The Marketing Director sets the strategy, and you bring it to life, from idea to camera to publish to results. If you love social media, know great content when you see it, and have the energy and initiative to make things happen, we’d like to hear from you.
