We are seeking a skilled Carpenter preferably with experience in the event/exhibition/set building sector to assist our full time team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, MDF, di-bond, acrylic, laminate and many other materials required by the brief. The ideal candidate will have experience in various carpentry techniques and possess a strong attention to detail, ability to read and understand drawings, have creative flair and good problem solving abilities. Due to the nature of the industry deadlines are imperative, so a can do attitude and working well under pressure as a team is very important. You must be able to make it to the workshop based in Clacton on sea.
This wont be your average carpentry position. For the right candidates you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects at car festivals, car launches, music festivals, corporate events and even install projects abroad.
Experience within the events/exhibitions/set building industry preferred but not essential.
Experience operating CNC's is a bonus.
IPAF ticket is a bonus.
Carpentry experience is essential, rates will reflect experience.
Duties:
- Measure, cut and shape wood, plywood, and MDF according to specifications
- Create and Install structures and fixtures such as doors, cabinets, and flats
- Construct building frameworks including walls and sub floors
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet project requirements
- Ability to operate workshop machinery
- Keep a clean, tidy and efficient work area
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians to complete projects on site
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
- Proficient in various carpentry techniques including framing, painting, laminating ect...
- Knowledge of power tools and hand tools used in carpentry
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills

£220-£275 a day on site, depending on experience.
£30 a day PD's paid if staying away in hotel.
