Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Joiner/Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting, assembling, and installing high-quality wooden structures and fixtures across various projects. This is a temporary role that can lead to permanent position. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring precision, durability, and aesthetic appeal. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse building sites, from residential to commercial developments, contributing directly to the creation of functional and beautiful spaces.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools to meet project specifications.
- Construct and install frameworks, cabinetry, partitions, roofing structures, and other wooden components with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper execution of tasks.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks effectively on-site.
- Perform heavy lifting safely during material handling, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times.
- Conduct construction painting when required to finish surfaces and enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Assist with plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks as needed to support integrated building processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within construction environments.
- Proficiency in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices.
- Skilled in operating power tools including drills, sanders, routers, and nail guns.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques and experience with heavy lifting equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret project plans effectively.
- Familiarity with construction painting techniques as well as basic plumbing or electrical experience is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
