About the Role
This is a hands-on role at the heart of the guest experience at Hawarden Estate Holidays. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will work as part of a small, committed team to ensure our holiday cottages and guest spaces are beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and ready to welcome every arrival. You will support the Housekeeping Supervisor with day-to-day cleaning operations, changeovers, and the behind-the-scenes tasks that make our guests’ stays exceptional.
No two days are exactly the same – you will need to be adaptable, take pride in your work, and enjoy being part of a team that cares about getting the details right.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare holiday cottages and guest areas to a consistently high standard between guest stays.
- Carry out thorough changeovers, including stripping and making beds, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas, and resetting each property to our welcome standard.
- Support deep cleans, seasonal refreshes, and pre-arrival checks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Replenish guest supplies, welcome items, and honesty shop stock across properties.
- Assist with laundry management, including linen handling and coordination with external linen hire deliveries.
- Follow cleaning schedules, checklists, and procedures set by the Supervisor, flagging any issues with standards or timings.
- Report maintenance faults, damage, or missing items promptly and accurately.
- Support event-related cleans before, during, and after estate functions.
- Be available for occasional last-minute changeovers or urgent cleans outside of standard hours where required.
- Work collaboratively with other estate teams to support a joined-up guest experience.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a cleaning, housekeeping, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential – we will provide full training.
- A keen eye for detail and a genuine pride in a job well done.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with the ability to manage your time effectively during a changeover.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
- Awareness of basic health and safety practices in a working environment.
- Flexible availability, particularly over weekends and during peak holiday periods.
- A friendly, can-do attitude that reflects the Hawarden Estate values.
