About the role
As a Night Van Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring stock is transported safely, securely, and efficiently between locations. You will be responsible for operating company vehicles in line with all legal and safety requirements, conducting vehicle checks, managing load security, and delivering stock to customer locations on time.
This role requires a strong focus on safety, compliance, security, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently whilst maintaining high operational standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Conduct daily vehicle and trailer checks, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any defects promptly
- Complete all relevant documentation relating to vehicle checks and defects
- Ensure loads are secured correctly using appropriate restraints and equipment
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly, taking account of other road users and potential hazards
- Drive in accordance with road traffic legislation, EU Drivers' Hours Regulations, and the Road Transport Working Time Directive
- Deliver stock efficiently while maintaining compliance with all company procedures
- Communicate delays, incidents, or operational issues to the relevant teams in a timely manner
- Access unmanned stores , ensuring premises are secured and alarms reactivated following delivery
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation for vehicles and associated equipment
- Promote safe working practices and comply with all Health & Safety requirements
What We're Looking For:
- Full UK Class B driving licence
- Comfortable driving Long Wheel Base (LWB) Sprinters and/or Luton vans
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Road Transport Working Time Directive
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable and security focused
- Ability to work independently for extended periods
- Flexible approach to working patterns and operational requirements
Physical requirements:
This role is physically active and will include:
- Regular access and egress from vehicles
- Opening and closing vehicle doors throughout shifts
- Securing and checking loads
- Manual handling and lifting activities
- Moving pallets using pallet trucks
- Walking between vehicle and delivery locations, sometimes over reasonable distances

Shift Pattern:
> Core hours are 44.25hrs per week on any 5 over 7 days between the hours of 18:00 – 04:00, with a degree of flexibility required to meet the demands of the business.
