Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in using CNC Machinery. The position is paid and requires a keen eye for detail, safety consciousness, and proficiency in various technical skills.
This role is within our roller manufacturing division. Training will be provided. Previous CNC is preferred however, not essential.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines according to specifications, including installing tooling and fixtures
- Operate CNC milling machines with precision to produce parts within specified tolerances
- Programme and edit machine controls
- Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as necessary to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimise downtime
- Handle materials safely, including loading raw materials and unloading finished products
- Use hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments to machinery or tooling
- Conduct quality checks on finished parts, ensuring adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, milling, or manufacturing environments with CNC machinery is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with materials handling, tooling, welding, assembly, and basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in a manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to CNC machining and workshop environments
- Previous experience working with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines is preferred
