Mechanical Maintenance Technician/Fitter
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Time served Mechanical Technician/Fitter.
- Aptitude and knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves and motors
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant certifications or licenses may include but not essential – NVQ, BTEC, ONC, HNC, HVAC, IPAF, NVQ, Compex, COMAH.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on tanks, pipework, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment, generated with a computerised maintenance management system.
- Responding to breakdowns, conducting fault finding and repairing the issue and giving feed back
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Installing and commissioning new equipment, including power and control wiring for motors, transformers, and control systems.
