About us
Beckwood is an Oxfordshire based building contractor specialising in high quality residential construction, including bespoke new-build homes, major renovations and listed buildings.
We work on some fantastic properties across Oxfordshire, the cotswolds and the surrounding areas, often working closely with architects, designers and specialist trades to deliver individual, high-quality homes.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an Office Administrator to join our team and help with the day-to-day running of the company.
This isn't a large corporate office environment. We are a close-knit team, and we're looking for someone who enjoys getting involved, is naturally organised and is happy to take ownership of the things that keep a busy construction company running smoothly.
The Role
The main focus of the role will be providing administrative support across the business and helping to keep our office and projects organised.
No two days are likely to be exactly the same. One day you might be preparing documents for a new project, organising meetings and dealing with general enquiries; another you might be helping organise a client event, updating project information or supporting our marketing team with content from one of our live construction sites.
You don't need previous construction experience, although it would certainly be useful. More importantly, we're looking for someone who is organised, confident, reliable and keen to become an important part of the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- General office administration and helping with the day to day running of the business
- Responding to general enquiries
- Managing emails, documents and project information
- Preparing letters, reports and other company documents
- Organising meetings and maintaining diaries where required
- Supporting the management and project teams with administration
- Helping organise project files and maintaining company records
- Liaising with clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Assisting with new project enquiries and tender administration
- Helping with company events, meetings and occasional client or supplier visits
- Ordering office supplies and helping keep the office organised
- Supporting the wider team wherever required
As a growing business, there will also be opportunities to become involved in other areas depending on your interests and experience.
An Interest in Media & Content?
We're investing significantly in the Beckwood brand and how we showcase our projects.
We work on visually interesting construction projects and regularly produce photography, video and social media content showing our projects, people and the work that goes into building them.
For this reason, we'd be particularly interested to hear from candidates who also have an interest, qualification or experience in areas such as:
- Film or Media Studies
- Film or Video Production
- Photography
- Digital Media
- Social Media
- Content Creation
- Video Editing
This experience is not essential for the role.
However, for the right person, there would be opportunities to work alongside our marketing team, visit our construction projects, capture behind-the-scenes photos and video, and help us create content for platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn.
If you've studied film or media, enjoy photography, know your way around a camera or simply enjoy creating and editing video content, we'd be interested to hear about it.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is highly organised and pays attention to detail
- Is confident communicating by telephone and email
- Has a professional but friendly approach
- Is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for tasks
- Can manage several things at once without losing track of the details
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Has good written English and communication skills
- Is proactive and willing to get involved
- Enjoys being part of a small team
- Is looking for a role they can develop and grow with
Previous office or administration experience would be beneficial, but we are also open to candidates earlier in their career who can demonstrate the right attitude, organisation and communication skills.
Experience within construction, architecture, property or a similar industry would be useful but is not essential.
Why Join us?
We're a growing business, but we want to retain the close-knit and straightforward way we work.
You'll be joining at an exciting time for the company and will have the opportunity to make the role your own as the business develops.
You'll work alongside the directors, management team and our marketing team, with exposure to some exceptional residential construction projects across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.
For someone who wants more than a traditional administration role, there is genuine scope to become involved in different areas of the business and develop the position around your strengths.
Pay: £26,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
