Job Summary
We’re looking for a friendly, capable and compassionate full-time receptionist to join the team at Bramble and Bear.
We are a busy, independent veterinary practice, providing first-opinion, emergency and inpatient care to pets from across Staffordshire. Our new reception team will sit at the heart of the practice, helping us support clients, coordinate appointments and helping each day run as smoothly as possible.
This is a varied and fast-paced position. You may be welcoming a new puppy one moment and supporting a worried or grieving owner the next, so kindness, patience and emotional intelligence are essential.
The role will include:
- Welcoming clients and their pets Answering telephone and online enquiries Booking and managing appointments Taking payments and discussing costs clearly Liaising with our management, veterinary, nursing, and support teams Managing prescription and insurance-related enquiries Keeping reception calm, organised and welcoming Supporting clients during difficult or emotional situations
We’re looking for someone who:
- Communicates warmly and confidently Remains calm when the practice becomes busy Is organised and reliable with good attention to detail Is comfortable handling telephone calls, payments, and debtors. Can manage competing priorities without losing sight of the person in front of them Works well as part of a close, multidisciplinary team Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism Genuinely cares about people as well as their pets
Previous reception or customer-service experience would be advantageous. Experience within a veterinary or healthcare environment would be helpful, but not essential.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
