Events & Volunteer Engagement Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Events & Volunteer Engagement Manager to lead the planning and delivery of an exciting programme of fundraising, community and awareness events across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves bringing people together, building relationships and turning ideas into memorable events that generate income, raise awareness and strengthen our supporter community.
What you'll be doing
You’ll take ownership of our events programme, from the initial idea through to delivery and evaluation.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse programme of fundraising, community and awareness events across the UK.
- Develop creative event ideas that engage supporters, communities, volunteers and partners.
- Manage event budgets, logistics, venues, suppliers, merchandise and stock.
- Identify and develop sponsorship and partnership opportunities to maximise income and event impact.
- Build strong relationships with community groups, corporate partners, sponsors, suppliers and supporters.
- Lead volunteer recruitment, coordination, training and engagement for events.
- Work closely with marketing and fundraising colleagues to promote events and maximise participation and income.
- Support the creation of engaging digital content, social media activity and promotional materials.
- Ensure events are delivered safely and in line with Health & Safety, safeguarding, GDPR and organisational requirements.
- Monitor attendance, income, expenditure and engagement, using data and feedback to continually improve our events programme.
- Develop and maintain an annual events calendar and ensure all events are well planned, resourced and delivered to a high standard.
About you
You’re an experienced events professional who enjoys making things happen. You’re organised, confident and hands-on, with the ability to manage multiple projects while keeping people, budgets and deadlines on track.
You’ll be someone who naturally builds relationships, communicates well and brings energy and enthusiasm to everything you do.
You’ll have:
- At least five years’ experience delivering fundraising, community, corporate or similar events.
- Proven experience managing event budgets, logistics, suppliers and event operations.
- A track record of generating income through fundraising, sponsorship or partnerships.
- Experience recruiting, coordinating and engaging volunteers.
- Excellent project management, organisation and communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and solve problems quickly.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive a van and travel across the UK, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Punjabi language skills are desirable
Desirable
- Experience working within the charity or non-profit sector.
- Experience developing corporate partnerships or sponsorship packages.
- Experience using social media and digital marketing to promote events.
- Experience managing event merchandise and stock.
