Help Children Thrive in Families
At Evergreen Foster Care, we believe that children belong in families.
We are a highly specialised therapeutic fostering service supporting children to transition from children's homes into intensively supported foster families. Many of the children we support have experienced significant trauma and may present with social, emotional and mental health needs, including autism.
We're looking for an experienced Therapist (CBT, Family, Systemic or Play Therapy) who shares our passion for helping children build secure relationships and achieve lasting positive outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing therapeutic team where your expertise will directly influence the lives of children, foster carers and our wider professional network.
About the Role
Working alongside our fostering families, social workers and therapeutic team, you'll provide specialist therapeutic support that strengthens placements and helps children flourish within family life.
You'll enjoy a varied role combining direct therapeutic work, consultation, training and collaborative planning.
This is a hybrid role with a mixture of office, home and community-based working. Travel across our geographical area is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic consultation and guidance to foster carers.
- Facilitate reflective practice sessions, group supervision and therapeutic training.
- Attend placement planning meetings, reviews and professionals' meetings, providing specialist advice.
- Contribute to family finding and matching processes to help achieve successful, stable placements.
- Work collaboratively with social workers and partner agencies.
- Plan and manage your own diary effectively, including travel across our service area.
- Promote therapeutic parenting approaches throughout the organisation.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A recognised qualification in CBT, Family Therapy, Systemic Therapy or Play Therapy.
- Relevant professional registration or accreditation where applicable.
- Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties, autism and/or social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Experience within fostering, residential childcare or children's social care would be highly desirable.
What We Offer
- Salary: £42,000–£48,000 (depending on qualifications and experience).
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time considered.
- Flexible hybrid working with a balance of home, office and community-based working.
- 35 days total annual leave.
- Ongoing professional development and training.
- Supportive, collaborative therapeutic team.
- Opportunity to shape and develop an innovative therapeutic fostering service.
Occasional weekend working and participation in an on-call rota may be required as the service continues to grow.
