Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our educational team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff and enhancing the learning experience for students with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Support class teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Provide specialised support for students with special educational needs, including those with autism and other disabilities.
- Deliver small group or one-to-one tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
- Mentor and motivate pupils, encouraging their social and emotional development.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities to ensure safety and engagement.
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress, maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to support personalised education plans.
- Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and foster a supportive classroom community.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Knowledge of special education needs, including working with individuals with disabilities and autism.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring pupils to improve academic performance and confidence.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are desirable.
- A caring attitude, patience, organisation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and promoting inclusive education practices.
