You'll be responsible for ensuring the workshop operates efficiently by managing all aspects of the parts department, workshop loading, stock control and purchasing.
This is a hands-on role where your organisation and attention to detail will directly impact technician productivity, customer satisfaction and business profitability.

Your Responsibilities
Workshop Operations
* Plan and coordinate the daily workshop schedule.
* Ensure technicians have the correct parts before work begins.
* Monitor workshop workflow and identify potential delays.
* Work closely with technicians to maximise productivity.
* Help ensure workshop capacity is utilised efficiently.
Parts Department
* Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the parts department.
* Source and purchase parts from approved suppliers.
* Build strong supplier relationships.
* Manage urgent orders, returns and warranty claims.
* Ensure all deliveries are checked and allocated correctly.
* Maintain an organised and efficient parts department.
Stock Control
* Manage all workshop stock and consumables.
* Carry out regular stock checks and audits.
* Monitor stock levels and purchasing trends.
* Reduce obsolete stock and unnecessary expenditure.
* Maintain accurate stock records at all times.
Commercial Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the profitability of the parts department.
* Monitor purchasing costs and supplier pricing.
* Protect and improve parts gross profit margins.
* Ensure all parts used are allocated correctly to job cards.
* Ensure every chargeable part is invoiced.
* Produce reports on stock, purchasing and department performance.
Administration
* Maintain accurate purchasing and stock records.
* Process goods received and supplier invoices.
* Ensure workshop paperwork is accurate and up to date.
* Support management with operational reporting.

Essential Requirements
* Minimum **3 years' experience** in an automotive parts, workshop control or workshop operations role.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills.
* Strong understanding of automotive parts and supplier management.
* Experience in stock control and inventory management.
* Good IT and administration skills.
* Commercial awareness and attention to profitability.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy workshop environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
