At Signscape and Signconex Ltd, we’re looking for a SolidWorks Design Technician / Production Manager to join our Operations team in Bristol BS40 5DJ. This is a hands-on, office-based position where your drawings don’t just sit on a screen, they become real products used in real environments. You’ll work closely with the Technical Director and wider team to translate requirements into clear, accurate, and manufacturable designs and follow these through production.
The work itself is straightforward in principle but meaningful in execution. You’ll create customer approval drawings, refine them into detailed manufacturing drawings, and build the associated bills of materials and routings. You’ll liaise directly with customers to secure approvals, coordinate with internal departments, and engage external suppliers where needed. Along the way, you’ll keep an eye on cost targets and ensure each project stays aligned with expectations. It’s a role that rewards clarity, consistency, and attention to detail.
We’re looking for someone who already understands the rhythm of a manufacturing environment. You’ll be comfortable working with SolidWorks, and you’ll have a solid grasp of engineering drawings, standards, and terminology. Organisation matters here and you’ll often be managing multiple jobs at once so the ability to prioritise without losing accuracy is essential. Communication is just as important; you’ll need to adapt how you share information depending on who you’re working with, whether that’s a customer, colleague, or supplier.

You take ownership of your work, solve problems proactively, and understand the value of getting the details right the first time.
This is a fully site-based role at our manufacturing facility near Bristol BS40 5DJ, with no remote or hybrid option, designed to support close collaboration with the Technical Director and wider team and the needs of the business. We supply/manufacture all types of signage products to the signage trade in the UK and to most of the leading names in the industry. Hours of work will be 8.30 - 17.00, Monday to Friday although this could be flexible for the right candidate.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
