The essentials — is this you?
We’re looking for two experienced Senior Hairdressers to join our established team in Didsbury.
This role is suited to a confident, qualified stylist who:
- Has a minimum of 5 years’ salon-floor experience
- Is highly confident in both cutting and colour
- Can confidently manage a busy column while maintaining excellent client retention
- Has strong consultation, communication and people skills
- Holds NVQ Level 2 & 3 (or equivalent)
- Has the right to work in the UK
- Is passionate about developing their craft and delivering consistently high-quality work
- Hair extension experience is preferred
This is a fully employed position — not chair rental— offering genuine job security alongside a transparent commission structure and the opportunity to increase your earnings as your column grows.
Pay & Earning Potential
We believe experienced stylists should be rewarded properly for the business they build.
You’ll receive:
- A guaranteed minimum salary, providing security from day one. The level will depend on experience and seniority.
- A clear column target to work towards.
- Once your target is achieved, you move to 35% of your total column takings (ex VAT)— not just the amount above target.
- As your column grows, your 35% commission can meaningfully exceed your guaranteed basic salary.
- 8% commission on retail sales, with no minimum retail target — so you earn commission from your first product sale.

Established in 2013, Brandon May Hair is a premium salon in the heart of Didsbury, Manchester.
We’re known for our strong colour work, bridal styling and extension services, with a client base built over more than a decade. We work with both men and women and have a loyal clientele who value consistency, quality and a genuinely personal service.
We’re a tight-knit, experienced team with very low staff turnover — our most recent team member joined over a year ago — and we’re now looking to grow with the right people.

The Role
As a Senior Hairdresser, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional cutting and colour services while building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, managing a busy column and taking ownership of the full client experience — from consultation through to finished result and rebooking.
We’re looking for someone who:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an initial conversation, followed by a trade test at the salon.
For the trade test, you’ll be asked to bring your own models. This gives us the opportunity to see your work in practice — and gives you the chance to experience the salon, meet the team and decide whether Brandon May Hair feels right for you too.
Probationary period: 4 months.
