Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Pot Washer to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support food preparation and service by ensuring all kitchenware and surfaces are hygienic and ready for use. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor
- Organising and storing cleaned items appropriately to facilitate easy access for kitchen staff
- Supporting the overall cleanliness of the kitchen environment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in line with company policies
- Ensuring all cleaning duties are completed within designated timeframes to support service schedules
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and health & safety regulations is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from senior staff
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- A positive attitude towards learning new skills within the culinary sector
