TREST is a relatively new engineering company which has made big progress and is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work alongside a team designing and building a brand-new project.
TREST is a leading manufacturer of innovative and reliable refuse collection vehicles, serving municipal and private waste management customers across the country. Our mission is to deliver high quality; durable and environmentally conscious vehicles tailored to our customer’s needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for refuse trucks and components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and manufacturing drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers, production managers and sales to translate customer requirements into practical designs.
- Support prototyping, testing and continuous improvement initiatives by providing updated drawings and design adjustments.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, regulations, and internal quality procedures.
- Aid in the assembly and testing of inhouse prototypes.
- Carry out all duties according to health & safety and government legislations
Qualifications or Required Experience:
The ideal applicant will be organised, creative, detail-oriented and adaptive. Proficiency in both written and oral communication is important as are current IT abilities and knowledge of 3D CAD systems.
- Qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent advantageous but not essential.

- Gained occupational competence through apprenticeship or similar.
- Knowledge and experience of 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
