WE ARE HIRING AT OUR BOSTON SURGERY
Job title: Veterinary Receptionist/Animal handler x 2
Location: Rase Veterinary Centre, PE21 8BB
Hours: Part time - 22 and 16.5 hrs weekly ()
Shifts: 2 week rolling rota shared between 2 people
Week one - Monday, Wednesday, friday 5pm - 10.30pm (16.5hrs)
Week two - Tuesday Thursday, Saturday, Sunday 5pm - 10.30pm 22hrs
Pay: Permanent, meets national minimum wage
Rase Vets is the largest independent Veterinary Centre in the area and is expanding rapidly. We currently are looking for an enthusiastic motivated receptionist to join our growing enterprise!

Our receptionists are the face of our practice and the first point of contact for all our clients; with so much responsibility some key attributes are required:
- Friendly approachable manner
- Patient nature
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Methodical and organised
The role:
Our reception team are required to work cohesively together, ensuring clear and concise communication between clients, clinical staff, branches and outside agencies, meaning that our clients and patients receive the highest quality of service and care possible.
The list of duties our receptionists perform include:
- Answering phone calls promptly
- Book routine and emergency appointments
- “Triaging” cases over the phone
- Taking messages and communicating them to the wider team
- Organising diaries
- Customer service
- Cleaning and maintaining hygiene
- Taking payments
- Preparing and dispensing medications for clients
- Updating client records (ensuring personal details are recorded correctly and updated)
- Maintaining client confidentiality as per GDPR regulations
- Take clear and concise notes for clinical histories
- Stock rotation and ordering
- Assisting consult vet
- Animal handling
- Assisting consult vet to admit patients to hospital
- Basic kennel care for admitted patients awaiting transfer to hospital
This list is not exhaustive
No formal qualifications necessary as full training will be give, But experience in animal handling preferred.
