Fusion Staffing is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Thames Ditton that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions, implement individual support plans, and create a positive, nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
This role would suit someone who is calm, patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Building positive relationships and encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning will be key to your success.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a UK primary school.
- Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, and/or SEMH.
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
