The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping department.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards throughout the property, ensuring every bedroom, lodge and public area consistently exceeds guest expectations.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Alongside managing the department, you will work with the team to deliver exceptional standards, lead by example and help develop a positive and supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the housekeeping team.
- Inspect bedrooms, lodges and public areas to ensure they consistently meet five-star standards.
- Plan daily workloads and staff rotas.
- Train, coach and develop housekeeping team members.
- Assist with recruitment, inductions and performance management.
- Manage housekeeping stock, guest amenities and linen supplies.
- Place departmental orders and maintain stock levels.
- Work closely with Reception to ensure rooms are prioritised and ready for arrivals.
- Liaise with the Maintenance team to ensure defects are reported and resolved promptly.
- Ensure departmental compliance with health and safety, COSHH and company procedures.
- Maintain excellent standards whilst actively assisting with cleaning and room preparation during busy periods.
- Continually look for ways to improve efficiency and enhance the guest experience.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous housekeeping experience within a hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
- Has supervisory or Head Housekeeper experience (preferred).
- Has exceptional attention to detail.
- Leads by example and enjoys motivating others.
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Is confident managing workloads and maintaining high standards.
- Is calm under pressure and adaptable.
- Is flexible to work weekends, bank holidays and occasional evenings.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
