Oxford Saïd Business School is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Oxford/EY Transformation Value research programme, a long-standing research partnership between Saïd Business School and global advisory firm Ernst & Young (EY). The programme explores the organisational conditions and leadership practices that enhance the success of large-scale corporate transformations by placing the human experience—rational, emotional and relational—at the centre of transformation research.
The successful candidates will join a research project focused on transformation in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector. Building on the insights and datasets developed through the first two phases of the Transfomation research programme, this project examines how TMT organisations successfully transition to a digital, data-driven and AI-enabled future and, critically, how they realise and sustain the long-term value of these transformation efforts.
The project closely aligns with Oxford Saïd’s mission to deliver “Impact from Within” and combines rigorous academic research with immediate practical relevance. The research fellow will work in a closely integrated team of Oxford Saïd faculty and senior EY stakeholders and work directly with the principal investigator, Professor Michael Smets and research lead Dr Alexander Budzier. They will primarily lead on the qualitative case study component of this research phase, including data management, data analysis, practitioner report writing and academic publication. They will also be granted access to the qualitative as well as quantitative data from research phases 1 and 2 (details below) as well as survey data from phase 3 to develop a publication pipeline from this existing dataset.
