GENERAL SUMMARY:
Primarily to work as a Van Driver doing multi-drop deliveries, delivering temperature-controlled goods to customers. Orders are palletised and loaded using forklift trucks, goods are hand boarded off at the point of delivery. The role is primarily a van driver but on occasional days to be worked as a driver’s assistant.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loading and unloading stock
- Checking that all the items are accounted for against delivery sheets (PODS).
- Ensuring that vehicles are kept in appropriate condition that defects are reported, the cab interior are always kept tidy
- Driving in a safe, courteous and legal manner, complying with all current EU Road Transport regulation and WTD always
- Obtaining delivery signatures from customers
- Communicate effectively with co-workers in transport team and other relevant departments
- Ensuring returned goods are acceptable according to the Returns procedure
- Dealing appropriately with customer enquiries and complaints
- Using resources economically
- Act as an ambassador for the Company when meeting customers creating an excellent impression
