We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys negotiating contracts, managing commercial risk and supporting business growth in a fast-paced, technical environment.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, you will provide commercial and contractual support across the business, ensuring that contracts are commercially robust, legally compliant and aligned with company objectives. You will work closely with our Operations, Business Development, Project Management, Engineering and Finance teams throughout the full contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate customer and supplier contracts.
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure contractual compliance throughout project delivery.
- Maintain standard contract templates and commercial documentation.
- Assist with dispute resolution and contract change management.
- Support continuous improvement of commercial processes and governance.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
ABOUT YOU
- You'll be an organised, commercially aware professional with excellent negotiation and
- communication skills.
- Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in commercial contract management.
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing, technology, marine, defence or a similarly
- technical industry.
- Excellent understanding of commercial terms and conditions.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate commercial risk.
- Experience supporting bids and tenders.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Confident stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently whilst collaborating across multiple departments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of UK public sector procurement.
- Experience of NEC, JCT, FIDIC or similar contract forms.
- Understanding of export or international commercial contracts.
- Degree or professional qualification in Law, Business, Commercial Management or a related discipline
