We are looking to recruit a Powered Access Engineer to join our expanding workshop team.
About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding engineering role working across one of the North East's most diverse powered access fleets. You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing a wide range of powered access and plant equipment, helping us maintain the high standards of reliability and customer service that EMCO is known for.
The role is primarily workshop-based but also includes occasional customer site visits using a company service van.
Key Responsibilities
Fault finding and diagnostics
Servicing and preventative maintenance
Repairs and breakdown support
Pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
Machine inspections
Workshop-based maintenance
Occasional customer site visits
Completing job sheets and inspection paperwork
Working safely while maintaining high standards of workmanship
You'll be working across a fleet of approximately 180 machines, covering a wide range of:
Mechanical systems
Hydraulic systems and hoses
Electrical systems
Electronic controls and diagnostics

Previous powered access experience is advantageous but not essential.
We would also welcome applicants with experience in:
Mechanical engineering
Electrical engineering
Electronic diagnostics
Plant or heavy equipment maintenance
Agricultural machinery
HGV maintenance
Automotive engineering
Experience working on cranes, telehandlers, excavators, forklifts, powered access equipment or similar machinery would be highly advantageous.

Monday to Friday working (7:30am – 5:00pm)
45-hour guaranteed working week
Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 45 hours
28 days annual leave

Requirements
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Previous engineering or mechanical experience preferred
Powered access experience advantageous but not essential
