Our work spans live events, corporate productions, equipment hire and virtual events, giving our team the opportunity to work on a varied range of exciting projects.
We are looking for a Casual AV Technician to join our team and support the technical delivery of events from our busy hire, virtual and live-event departments.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit an experienced AV professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering excellent service and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider production team.
The Role
As a Casual AV Technician, you will be involved in the preparation, delivery, installation and operation of audio-visual equipment for a wide variety of events.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing, testing and checking AV equipment prior to events.
Loading, transporting, delivering and collecting equipment from event venues.
Installing and de-rigging audio-visual, lighting, staging and associated production equipment.
Operating AV equipment and providing on-site technical support.
Providing technical management and support throughout live and corporate events.
Carrying out basic maintenance, testing and servicing of equipment.
Coordinating and managing freelance technicians and event crew on-site where required.
Working directly with clients to understand their requirements and proactively resolve technical issues.
Supporting the delivery of virtual, hybrid and streaming events.
Carrying out general warehouse duties, including equipment preparation, organisation and stock management.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Representing Stage Connections professionally at all times.
The role involves working across a variety of venues and events, so flexibility around working hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential.
About You
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, reliable and confident working in a client-facing environment.
You will ideally have:
A minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar AV Technician or live-events role.
Corporate live-event experience — essential.
A full UK driving licence.
A solid understanding of audio, video, lighting, rigging and staging systems.
Practical experience installing, operating and de-rigging AV equipment.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The confidence to work directly with clients and respond proactively to their needs.
Experience working with or managing freelance technicians and event crew.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
A flexible and positive approach to working hours and changing event requirements.
The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
A self-motivated, professional and customer-focused attitude.
What We Offer
