Box Autos / Box Couriers Ltd is a young, fast-growing, family-run business based in Cumbernauld. We operate a busy workshop offering mechanical repairs, tyres, bodyshop services, fleet support, and 24/7 mobile tyre services.
We are now looking for a full-time experienced Mechanic to join Team Box and help us grow the mechanical side of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic who wants to be part of a growing company, have real input into the workshop, and support the continued development of the mechanical side of the business.
The ideal candidate will be confident carrying out a range of mechanical repairs and servicing work on cars and vans. You should be reliable, organised, take pride in your work, and be comfortable dealing with customers when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on cars and vans
- Diagnose faults accurately and recommend suitable repairs
- Must be able to complete brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts, clutches, timing belts/chains, and general mechanical work
- Carry out inspections and safety checks to a high standard
- Road test vehicles when required
- Assist with tyre fitting work when required
- Work well within the team and support others where required
- Help keep the workshop clean, organised, and efficient
- Support the growth of the mechanical side of the business
- Provide good customer service and represent the company professionally
- Work as part of a small but growing team
Requirements
- Experienced mechanic
- Previous experience working on cars and vans
- Good mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Confident using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Full UK driving licence is essential due to road testing vehicles and occasional collection/delivery duties
- Tyre fitting experience preferred but not essential, as training can be provided
