Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 2 truck equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering goods efficiently and securely to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, coupled with your ability to handle load securing and precise crane operation, will ensure smooth operations and exceptional service delivery. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle with a HIAB crane attachment for loading and unloading goods
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules while adhering to road safety regulations
- Secure loads properly using appropriate straps, chains, and load restraints to prevent movement during transit
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with manual handling tasks when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
- Communicate professionally with clients and warehouse staff during deliveries and collections
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery notes and logs of crane operations
- Keeping vehicle presentable inside and outside.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with no more than six penalty points
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery routes involving heavy goods vehicles
- Certification in HIAB crane operation (or willingness to obtain training upon hire)
- Familiarity with load securing techniques such as flatbed or similar transportation methods
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight schedules efficiently
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and securing loads safely
