Reporting directly to the Lead Mental Health Nurse, our Shared Care OST Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety by utilising Illy to generate OST prescriptions.
You will remind surgery’s to complete their drug safety monitoring by working closely with “With you” and the GP surgery’s in the BNSSG. You will attend scheduled shared care prescribing meetings with the practice staff, Public health and “With you” You will provide regular feedback on data and feedback on incidents and provide quartile reports.
You will be responsible for monitoring the OST email address and entering data on Illy to ensure prescriptions are printed and delivered in a timely manner to the surgeries. There will be regular contact with the staff at “We are with you” to ensure patient safety.
You will assist the practice to maximise prescribing safely, follow the polices and standardised operating procedures to ensure safety of prescriptions. You will also be working closely with the lead mental health nurse and with practice management to ensure exception reporting is implemented where they see fit and/or a clinician has agreed to steps required.
Workload will be intense at times therefore this role will require exceptional time management skills to ensure that all aspects and demands are met in an efficient and timely manner. Particular attention must be paid to ensuring that workstreams continue to be well managed and maintained during periods of annual leave or other absences.
